Conrad Marais is another experienced campaigner who will be playing in his second Rugby World Cup tournament. Born in Walvis Bay on Namibia’s West Coast he attend Fish Hoek School in Cape Town. He played for Villagers, then scored a try on his Western Province Vodacom Cup debut before moving to the Pumas for a short stint. He then joined the handful of Namibians playing professionally in France. He first did duty at Montpellier then joined Beziers where he has made close to 50 appearances in France’s Pro D2 completion. Standing 1.93 meters tall and weighing 100 kilograms he has an imposing presence on the field. Overseas club commitments has limited his appearances for Namibia to eight, including two matches against Fiji and South Africa respectively at the 2011 Rugby World Cup in France. Marais has scored five tries in eight test matches for Namibia.
